Hello campers, and welcome to our May 2021 edition of Lake Life News, the monthly newsletter that gives you the inside-scoop about everything Westward Shores.
Our Month in Review
We’ve been open for just two weeks, and we’re already having an incredible 2021 season! We’re so glad to have shared many laughs and smiles with you all, and we’re looking forward to even more as we move into summer. Take a look at all of the fun we’re having so far!
Our first themed event of this season was “Color the Park”, so we held a camp-classic Color Run! It was an absolute blast to run around and see our campers covered in paint. Our next themed event will be “Ultimate Camper”, and it takes place from May 28 – June 13. We hope you can make it!
New Hampshire Police Visit
Don’t worry, the NH State Police came to join in on the fun! The officers rolled right into main camp, and we even got to sit inside the police car!
Just in time for Memorial Day Weekend, and with the help of Jon Winslow, we’ve raised a new American flag in front of our Marina! Let us remember those who served our country as we enjoy the long weekend.
Meet Our Staff
Along with the official start of the season, we have so many new staff members that we’d like to introduce to you!

Caden Lussier – Store Clerk
Sean Pinard – Park Services
Tianna Porter – Store Clerk
If you see any of these individuals around camp, be sure to say hello!

Site of the Month Contest
We’re proud to announce the winners of our first Site of the Month contest: Al, Maureen, & Erica Hart! Congratulations!! Remember that whoever is deemed the winner will receive a congratulatory yard sign that they can display on their site for the month, as well as a $25 voucher to the Snack Bar, plus all of the glory and bragging rights. Congrats to the Harts, and good luck next month!
We would like to take this moment to congratulate one of our stellar staff members as well! Emma Quint has recently applied to, and been accepted by four colleges with scholarship opportunities at each one. She has decided to attend St. Joseph’s College of Maine with a major in Radiology. Great work, Emma!
Camping Joke of the Month
How do you communicate with a fish?
Drop it a line!
This past month, a camper reached out to us with a special story that we would like to share. If you’ve ever been to our playground, you’ve probably noticed a memorial rock with the name “Jen Cheney”. Jen was a camper at Westward Shores who’s life was tragically ended in a car accident on her way home from camp. The loss of our friend had a profound impact on our community, which is why we chose to memorialize her here at camp. The rock is there as a reminder that we are only young once, and to cherish every memory made at camp. With that, we welcome you all to another unforgettable and fun-filled season on the shores of Ossipee Lake.
Our “Camper’s Corner” is the section of the newsletter where you can submit news and questions for us to respond to. Would you like to be included in our newsletter next month? Please send us any news-worthy information or questions that you would like to be featured here in June!
