Have you ever wanted to camp with your pet but don’t know where to start? We know that it can be stressful, so Westward Shores is here to make things easier! Here’s some tips and tricks on how to make camping with your pet fun and relaxing at our park!
PICK A CABIN/CAMPSITE THAT’S PET-FRIENDLY
The first step in camping with your pet is researching which cabins and campsites are pet-friendly. Lucky for you, Westward Shores has options for you to choose from! From luxury to rustic cottages and premium RV sites, your pet will feel right at home wherever you stay!
UPDATE YOUR PET’S VACCINATIONS
In order to be healthy and safe, staying up to date on vaccinations is a must when camping with your pet. Visit the veterinarian before your stay to make sure your pet is ready to go. You can view Westward Shores’ pet waiver here.
MAKE A SUPPLIES LIST
Just like you, pets need to pack too! Make a list of essentials that your pet will need during your camping trip and check them off as you pack. Always bring extra food, water, bowls, and toys. Don’t forget the treats!
USE PICK-UP BAGS
No one likes a messy campground. Keep your cabin or campsite clean by packing pick-up bags to clean up after your pet. Make sure to keep them handy at all times!
PACK A CRATE
Figuring out sleeping arrangements is a must for your pet! Pack a crate for them to stay in so they feel comfortable in your cabin or campsite. A relaxed pet is a healthy pet!
VISIT THE BARK PARK
One of the reasons that makes Westward Shores so unique is our very own Bark Park! Bring your pup to our fenced-in park for some well-deserved exercise. Your pet will love exploring the various obstacles and toys, as well as playing with the other dogs too!
KEEP YOUR PET ON A LEASH
When walking around the campground, make sure to keep your pet on a leash at all times. This will ensure no dogs are wandering around the campground unattended. Plus, your pet will get to experience everything Westward Shores has to offer right by your side!
Camping with your pet is an experience you’ll never forget, and we want to be a part of it too! Don’t forget to take tons of pictures to commemorate your recent camping getaway, and tag us at @westwardshores on Instagram and Facebook. Happy camping!
